When I was growing up on the central plains of South Dakota, the Black Hills was my family’s vacation destination. This is where my family would get in a quick get-away from the family farm. There was something about these Hills that has always been in my heart!
I can remember sitting in the backseat of the family car staring out at the trees and granite spires, telling myself “Don’t blink! You need to remember this for when you are back on the farm!” I find myself literally giggling at times that I now call this my home.
